What does this photo say to you? To me, it says that Barack Obama gives us the hope that our children and grandchildren will grow up in a world where we are no longer divided along the lines of race or economic class, where our leaders in Washington work together across party lines to fix the things that have left our planet and our society in peril, and a world where our standing among the global community is restored to one where our leadership and our character are second to none.
What does this photo mean to you?

Close to 400 volunteers showed up at the new Pittsburgh for Obama field office in East Liberty this past Saturday. The volunteers were fired up and ready to go and after a brief training session they hit the streets to help the campaign register new voters. If you would like to volunteer please email your name, phone number, and address to Stephanie Sullivan.
Special thanks to Joe who put together the following slide show of the kickoff event.

The Pittsburgh Tribune Review was at our Petition return event at Carnegie Mellon University this past Sunday. Check out some of the quotes from local Obama supporters.

Time (Halperin): Tenaciously drove his four core issues (change, unity, inspiration, problem solving), and incorporated them into almost every answer.
Atlantic (Marc Ambinder): … I’ll give Obama the edge
MSNBC (Richard Wolffe): …This was by far his best debate
NBC (Chuck Todd): … And then came Iraq and Clinton once again showed why the issue has been such an Achilles heel. Obama just has an easier time talking about his position. Clinton has to sit there and re-explain why she was for it and why she’s not for it now.
Politico (Ben Smith): “Obama’s comfortable turf”: His trump card is his vote against the war, and he’s moved toward a new argument for why it’s relevant. “I think I will be the Dem who will be most effective in going up a John McCain…because I will offer a clear contrast,” he says. “I don’t want to just end the war, I want to end the mindset that got us into war in the first place.”
